Since there are no threat write-up pages anymore, all the threat info pages have been redirected to the generic Security Center Emerging Threats page. There is no alternative content, at this time. Symantec threat write-up pages hosted on domain from the past were removed after the Broadcom's acquisition of Symantec enterprise business. We're not seeing published threat information from Symantec like we used to before Symantec - Norton parted ways. I'm not finding PUA.InstallCore!g 15 listed here >  .at this time. PUA.InstallCore!g15 feels like a known threat detection. I would have included the test file that was scanned but didn't think it necessary as well as safe. Thought Symantec would want to know about this and take corrective action. Files such as hardware drivers, OS, or application patches.

These files are so old, there is no replacing them for the systems that need them. But had that feature been turned on, they too may have been deleted. I also have some older files on this network share, for older computers, that have in the past, given false positives, which is why I have disabled Norton 360 from scanning network shares. I then manually returned the settings to "Ask Me" and "Ignore" and repeated the test, getting the same results again, of auto-deleting and placing the file in quarantine, without prompting me to do so. As expected, the file was auto-deleted and placed in quarantine. To be sure the results were repeatable, I returned the settings to their default as when Norton 360 was 1st installed and ran the test again. So the questions are, "Why wasn't I Asked before removing the Threat", instead of it being automatically deleted and placed in Quarantine? And, is there some combination of additional settings needed to make this work as advertised? I've included screenshots to make this easier to understand. After downloading the latest version of Norton 360 (as of 01-22-2022) and performing a clean install on a new system, then setting Automatic Protection, RealTime Protection, SONAR Protection, SONAR Advanced Mode, Remove Risks Automatically to "Ask Me" and Remove Risks if I Am Away to "Ignore", I ran my test to confirm the settings were working as advertised.

I keep a file on a network share with a known virus, for testing purposes.
